Random Wedding Thoughts

 Remember that one time when my main squeeze was in a wedding? Yes, that would be the same wedding where  I gave my son alcohol. {PS: The video at the end of that blog post almost had me in tears a minute ago...I love my children!!!}
Well, we had a great time. We love weddings. Weddings are fun.

Speaking of weddings, remember when Boss' brother got married an entire year ago? {How has it been that long?}
At that wedding, I captured my favorite picture to date of my niece, Miss B. Seriously, that girl is gorgeous.

Well, that would be the last wedding in our family until now. Petey remembers 'Uncle Fatty's' wedding and when I told her Uncle Aaron was getting married in February, she said, "What, so Uncle Fatty didn't want to get married again? Whatever..."

I don't think she quite understands that the goal is to only get married once. We'll work on teaching her that.

You thought I had some big post about weddings or a particular wedding coming up, didn't you?
Well, I don't. I really just wanted to share that funny comment that my girl said today.

But alas, I'll give you something else to laugh about tonight.

At church on Sunday, I was talking to my kids about Jesus during the sacrament and I said, "Spidey, what did Jesus do for you?"
His reply, "He punched me in the face."

I guess we have a lot of teaching to do around here.

PS: My favorite thing about Spidey right now is that instead of saying, "That's a girl baby!" or "That girl is running.", he says, "That's a princess baby!" or "That princess is running." He also calls me a princess throughout the day. It's just about the sweetest thing!

The Story I Swore To Never Tell

I prayed for the day this story would seem funny in my mind.
I feared ever writing it down because to me, it was the worst mistake a parent could've made!
But it happened, I can assure you it was an accident, and I think it's finally become funny enough to post.
Do you remember when I blogged about Ryan and Kaitlin's wedding? The wedding my husband was a groomsman for? The blog post where at the end, I hinted that I had done something horrible and that I would never reveal it?

Here I am revealing it.

My plan was to stay as long as the kids would behave but after Spidey started saying he was tired and wanted to go to bed, I knew we needed to head home. After getting the kids in the car, I realized I had left my camera in the bathroom so we went back inside to find it. With no luck of finding it in the place I knew it had been left, I decided to go sit back down at our seats and wait for all of the toasts to finish before asking if anyone had seen it.
I was the only adult sitting at my table. The rest were 4 young girls and I could tell that their wine glasses were filled with water for the toasts. At the time, Spidey starting complaining that he needed a drink. I saw that his glass was empty but that mine wasn't, so I let him drink it.
And drink it, he did. Almost down to the last sip.
Then Petey complained of thirst so I figured she would finish it off. She took a tiny sip and said, "Mom, this water tastes yucky." and I started to panic.
Could it really be wine? I wasn't even here when they poured it! How could this be?
In my panic, I took the last sip of the drink and much to my dismay, it was alcohol.
Panic. Embarrassment. Anger. Worry. More panic. More worry. Tons of worry.
If you were wondering, as soon as the toasts were over, the dj announced someone had found a camera and lucky for me, my camera was back in my arms...along with a tipsy little 2 year old who I needed to get home.
Oh that boy was tipsy. As you already read above, my boy had been exhausted not 30 minutes earlier and when we got in the car the second time, I had to listen to my son yelling, "Mommy!" over and again and laughing hysterically for a "fun" 30 minute drive home.
I cried a lot that night and felt like the worst mom in the world. Boss thought it was just a funny story and kept telling me I wasn't to blame and that it was an honest mistake but I really did feel horrible. But it has now been about 6 weeks and now I can laugh about it. I realize I didn't do anything wrong and that any mother could have made the same mistake.

The main reason I remembered this story was because of the video I took of our tipsy daughter today. Poor girl has Hand, Foot and Mouth Disease and has some big blisters in her mouth. Since it just needs to run it's course and Petey hasn't really been eating the past couple of days, we gave her some Hydrocodone to help with the pain. And help, it did. She was all smiles and jumping around like a crazy person...but I'll let you witness all of that for yourself. :)

And that's how Suze sees it.

Ryan and Kaitlin's Wedding

Boss' good friends, Ryan and Kaitlin, got married on Saturday and luck for us, we got to attend!
(By us, I mean the kids and I...Boss was a groomsmen so he was attending either way.)
The kids did so well waiting patiently for everything to start.
I brought books and a few toys because I knew we would need them...and we did. :)
Here is my cute husband walking a bridesmaid down the aisle. He did such a good job and he looked so darn handsome in his tuxedo!
Kaitlin's dress was definitely a princess dress and she looked gorgeous. The entire ceremony was beautiful, especially when they read their vows. I wish that was something Boss and I could've done at our wedding or maybe our reception. I love the things they said to each other.
Then, it was on to the reception. I love love love my Spidey!!! He makes the cutest, funniest faces! I'm also glad they found this high chair for us because it saved our lives! He was strapped in. :)
Besides telling me she was hungry over 100 times, Petey did good at the reception too.
I let her go out and dance while we were waiting for the wedding party to arrive.
The wedding party arrived in awesome style! I'm pretty sure it was the "Let's get ready to rumble!" song that you hear at sports games when they announce a team coming out. They announced each individual and they came through the doors dancing. I was SO proud of my reserved husband, who came out dancing and acting goofy, just like the rest of them. :) Then, they all put their hands up high and made a tower so the bride and groom could run through them. Awesome really is the best word to describe this. I was laughing really hard.
After eating, I let the kids go out and show off their moves on the dance floor. They had a blast dancing together.
Boss even came over and joined them for a bit. My silly boy wasn't even angry, he just refused to smile because he wanted to be put down to dance some more!
Spidey kept sneaking over to the wedding party table to hang out with his dad...or maybe it was to jump off of those stairs.
I love Petey's dance position here. She is so funny and was dancing all night!
Spidey found a kid blowing bubbles and decided that would be his new best friend. The kid would blow bubbles and Spidey would try to pop them all.

It was a super fun amazing crazy night. The end of my night was definitely my least favorite for a couple of reasons, one of them being that we had to leave, but the main reasons being that I made the worst mom mistake in the entire world and have been feeling horrible ever since. But I needed to get the kids in bed. I'm sad I missed all the crazy dancing and fun they all had but mom duties came first so Boss could enjoy his evening with friends.

We had a great time and were so happy for Kaitlin and Ryan! It was the perfect day and everything ran so smoothly!

And that's how Suze sees it.
