Easter Weekend

Since the day after Boss' brother got married was Easter, we mixed in a couple of Easter activities that weekend. My first set of pictures is from Easter day and then we'll skip back to the Friday before since I don't feel like reformatting all of the pictures. :)
We let the kids hav a slumber party in Spidey's room and when I went in there to wake them up, my boy was all smiles and Petey was still asleep.
After some coaxing, they were both up and ready to find their Easter goodies. Spidey took one look at his new helmet and said, "This is amazing!"
After looking at their goodies, it was time to get all ready for church. My mom got the kids Easter outfits this year and I think they both looked absolutely adorable.

 I got Petey that white hat to go with her dress. I just couldn't resist. She looked adorable. {And no, she didn't wear those flip flops to church}
This picture is my favorite. My kids have this special bond that I adore. It makes me so happy to see them loving each other.
After Easter dinner at Boss' grandparents, we headed over to my parents' house to get a picture of all the granddaughters in their matching dresses. How cute are they?!
Ellie gave me lots of smiles that night. My sister's kids don't smile easily as babies so I love getting smiles out of them.

Ok, now onto Friday and the Easter egg hunt at my parents house.
We sent Ellie out first so she could grab some eggs before the older kids went outside.
Then it was time to let them all loose. The 3 oldest started running further out into the yard...
...Spidey played it safe and just grabbed the ones near him. He actually ended up with more eggs than anyone and started giving away eggs to the other kids by the end because his basket was full.

This is one of Spidey's bestest friends, Hurley. Hurley is seriously the best dog I've ever met. She lets my kids play with her whenever they want. Spidey loves giving her hugs and chasing her around the yard. I'm not kidding when I say I wish she were our dog. Even Petey plays with her and Petey isn't the biggest animal fan.

After the Easter egg hunt, we went to the Easter pagaent with some of our family. We didn't get there early enough this year to be where I wanted in the grass but our seats were still pretty close.
We stopped at Cafe Rio, which made the kids happy.
Boss' brother, Fatty, {seriously} and his wife, Katie, and my sister, Andrea, and her husband, Jp, joined us. I asked Boss to get Spidey in a pull up and his pajamas and Fatty helped him by wrapping Spidey up in the blanket while Boss got him dressed. It was pretty funny.

The Easter pagaent was beautiful, as always. My kids enjoyed most of it but I'll admit that we let them play games on my Kindle when they were getting tired.

I am so grateful for Easter and the opportunity that I have to remember what my Savior did for me. It was a wonderful weekend and I feel so blessed to be a part of such wonderful families.

Easter Weekend

What an Easter! We had 3 Easter egg hunts and the kids had a wonderful weekend. The first party was our HOA Easter party. Petey and Spidey each got to get 10 eggs and lucky for my little girly, she got a golden egg and got to pick a prize! The prize she picked was a Princess Aurora baby doll. They also had carnival games and both kids got a couple prizes from those fun games. Then we headed to my parents house for our 2nd Easter egg hunt. Unfortunatly, I left my camera at home and have NO pictures but the kids definitely had fun. Then we headed out to Tucson to spend Saturday afternoon through Sunday night with Boss' family. Petey was busy with her Leap pad...(not sure why this picture came up twice. Oops!)...and Spidey was feeding baby Chloe with the "bottle" he found. Spidester had such a fun time playing with the dog in Tucson. He LOVES animals. :)Easter morning, my tired kiddos woke up and we showed them to their baskets, which the Easter bunny had overflowed with presents! :) Then the kids put on their adorable outfits and everybody got ready. My kids LOVE brushing their teeth. Is that weird? It has never been a fight and they are both pretty good at it!Besties. These girls were so cute together all weekend. And thanks to Nana for these beautiful dresses. She made them for all the granddaughters. I loved my kids outfits and had fun "matching without matching". :) I'm sad Miss B didn't make it into any of these pictures but she had a matching dress as well. He is such a keeper! I love this kiddo so much.Unfortunatly, Spidey's asthma has been getting the best of him and he was on treatments a lot this weekend. REALLY unfortunatly, Petey has started needing treatments today. Boo. :(Leezer and Petey had so much fun all afternoon, dancing around and using their imaginations together. And all the adults sat around and played games. We had such a fun weekend and were especially grateful to spend this time with family.

Easter was wonderful and it was great to be able to teach my children the true reason we celebrate Easter. I know Petey grasped it and I'm hoping we can continue to teach Spidey so he knows how important it is as well.

And that's how Suze celebrates.

Easter Eggs and the Easter Pageant

On Wednesday, we went over to my parents' house to dye Easter eggs with the kids. George and Petey were excited to get started. We usually start by coloring the Easter eggs with crayons so when we dye them, the crayon shows through. Boss helped Spidey dye his eggs. I "helped" Petey but she did most of it herself. The finished product (minus Spidey's last one). The kids each got to dye 3 eggs.
As soon as we were done dying eggs, Petey and I headed out to the Easter Pageant...at 4pm...because I wanted a certain spot and was determined to get it. We set out our blanket, played Candyland, Legos, and read our books over and over. Petey did so well and I'm glad we got to have some girl time together that afternoon. She earned that umbrella by filling up her sticker chart and she was so happy to have it. I was happy she wasn't in the sun all afternoon. Win-win.We spent a lot of time laying around like this since the sun was in our eyes. Did I mention we got there 4 hours before the pageant starts? Also, did I mention nobody really sat around us until 6pm so we got there 2 hrs earlier than we needed to? Oh well. I got the seats I wanted and we weren't too far away!Uncle Benny and Nana showed up around 6pm and Petey was so excited to see them. Then, a bit later, the out-of-towners (Boss' sister and her family) showed up and we were SO excited to see them, since it doesnt happen as often as we'd like. Miss B has a cast on her arm because she is currently doing constraint therapy to help strengthen her right arm. Remember how she had a stroke? You can visit Juli's blog to read more about that. (http://www.juliandnick.blogspot.com) All the kiddos layed down with blankets and snuggled up, since it got a bit chilly once the sun went down.Love my nieces! Aren't they just super adorable?Right before the pageant started, I changed Petey into her jammies and she gave me some poses. Funny girl. :)
We love the tradition of going to see the Easter Pageant. It really gets my mind in the focus of Easter and it's true meaning.
And that's how Suze sees it.
PS: Boss had taken Spidey home because he had a cough...hence the reason they aren't in any pageant pictures. :)
