My Baby Turned 2!

Today, my baby turned 2.
Two years ago, at 8:45am, this was happening. My baby was born at 39.5 weeks and we thought he would be huge. But 6 lbs 6oz is anything but huge. He was a skinny little thing but didn't stay that way for long.

Petey's face explains exactly how she felt about meeting him for the first time. She was super unsure and started to cry almost immediately.

Like I said, Spidey didn't stay small for long. By 6 weeks old, he weighed 13 pounds and was so husky-lookin. We loved his chub. He stayed that way most of his first year.

It seems like just yesterday we were taking these pictures of our one year old boy. I couldn't believe how easy that first year was. He was such a cuddle bug and almost nothing made him cry.

But Spidey eventually hit 18 months old and his defiance started to show. The hitting was out of control and I was constantly pulling him off of his big sister. Ok, so it probably wasn't that bad but it felt that way at the time.

But these past 6 months, it has been hard to discipline this adorable face too much. That isnt to say he doesnt get disciplined but seriously, if a toddler looked at you with a face like this, would you stay angry??!!! :)

I am literally in awe that it has been two years since this baby boy was born and almost three years since we found out we were pregnant for a second time. This last picture was taken today. Look at how big he is, jumping high on the trampoline. I can't believe my baby isn't a baby anymore.

I am so proud of my Spidey or as we usually call him, Bubba. He is such a happy kiddo and I feel so lucky to have him in my life.

Spidey is doing MANY things at the age of two but I'll try to document what I can think of in this moment:

-He has too many words to count and speaks mostly sentences now. There are times I can't quite understand what he is saying but every day, his pronunciation seems to become a little bit more clear.

-His favorite things are Toy Story (especially saying "To infinny beyon!" and saying "Rawr" like Rex), airplanes (almost any noise he hears outside, he starts pointing up and saying, "Ay-pwane!"), watching movies in general, playing hide and seek (he can hide and stay quiet like 5 times as long as Petey does), and being outside.

-He can now do a perfect somersault and can jump pretty high and multiple times in a row, getting both feet off the ground. (refer to video below)

-He is a Momma's boy. Today on his birthday, all he wanted to do was have me hold him. We watched FIVE movies. But since he was deciding what we did, we were ok with that. I rocked and held him most of today and I wouldn't have it any other way.

-He knows how to get daddy to play with him and is the best at waking daddy up in the mornings. All he has to do is pretend to wrestle or tickle and daddy can't resist getting in on the fun. They love wrestling and rough housing already.

-He has the most hilarious fake laugh. If he is trying to be a ham and get attention, he will belt out "HA! HA! HA!" really loud and throw his head back. I will try to get a video because it is hilarious.

There are just so many great things about this special kiddo in our lives. I am grateful he is here in our family.

And that's how Suze sees it.
